Every year, on the day of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity‘s Grand Finale (WOSP) – the Poland’s largest charity event, which comprises of local concerts held across the whole country and street fundraising – a Twitter fundraising for the WOSP Foundation takes place as well. For the first tweet posted by any user, which would include a #MastercardGrazWOSP hashtag, Mastercard donates 5 PLN to the Foundation. The Agency was responsible for coordinating and monitoring Twitter activities, moderating of discussions, driving engagement with both influencers and regular users, as well as for ongoing reporting of the events on Twitter – including live tweeting from the central Warsaw Finale. We were also responsible for communicating the campaign to the media and bloggers.
During the Finale day, Twitter users published almost 40 thousand “first” tweets – it was the largest number since the beginning of the campaign, six thousand more than last year. The hashtag #MastercardGrazWOSP was number 1 trend on Polish Twitter for most of the day, and it also appeared in global trends. As a result of this campaign, Mastercard decided to raise the amount of money and donate PLN 250.000 (about €58.000) the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
